The Swellbase Build: Update 10

This post is part of a series, adapted from emails sent to owners of outdoor centres across the UK who kindly provided advice and input as Swellbase was developed.


Mega few weeks at Swellbase HQ since the season has started heating up.

📈 We've now processed over £80k in online booking revenue, and more than £100k in total once admin-side bookings are added.

🛖 We now have 15 centres signed up from across the UK, and a couple more onboarding shortly!

🧑‍💻 Centres have switched from FareHarbor, Checkfront, Beyonk, Eola, BookingHound, and Bloowatch so far.

It's been a lot of work to get to this stage and I love every minute of it! It's great to see that work pay off both for Swellbase and the centres coming on to the platform.

It's awesome to be able to deliver better outcomes for your businesses by tackling the specific day-to-day admin problems that legacy booking software ignores.

You are Swellbase's entire focus, not just a small niche in our overall target market.


Product Updates

📞 Closed & message for timeslots. This was highly requested and is now live. You can set individual timeslots to closed but still visible to customers with a custom message i.e Call us to book, we may still have space, email us etc.

📋 Manifest improvements. Another highly requested feature (thank you for your feedback on the last email!) We have moved the printed version of Today's Sessions into the new Manifest tab. A customiseable, printable overview of the bookings of the day.

✅ Exclusive ticket types. We already had native private upselling, but you can now set individual ticket types to be exclusive on an activity i.e Private family ticket. It never sells a private session you can't staff, but maximises the opportunity for higher-value orders.

🗓 Attach staff & equipment to calendar notes. Speaks for itself! At Blue Coast we are already using this for private hires and staff training. Take staff and equipment out of circulation so your live resources are up to date. Automatically notify staff of note assignments.

⚡️ Available today / available tomorrow badges in booking flow. People book last minute these days. This makes it easier for customers to see at a glance what's available when they are in the market for an activity / hire right now.
