About Sam
Sam runs two multi-activity centres at opposite ends of the country: New Forest Activities in Hampshire, and Cairngorms Activities near Grantown-on-Spey. He started the first with a co-founder in 2003, after five years instructing at a nearby centre, and it’s grown into the largest activity provider in the New Forest National Park — canoeing and kayaking, archery, ropes courses, bushcraft and laser tag.
They bought Cairngorms Activities in 2022, adding gorge walking, canoeing on the Spey, a golf course and a 30-bed bunkhouse.
Both sites run schools and youth programmes and corporate team development alongside the tourist trade. He also runs Seed to Summit, a CIC doing nature-based work with young people and with adults who can’t otherwise get near that kind of support.
